Highway Care USA launches BG 800 Pedestrian Walkway at Transportation Research Board (TRB).

Highway Care USA is excited to launch the first MASH TL-2 Crash Tested Pedestrian Walkway. Adding positive protection for urban construction to its product portfolio.

Set to attract in excess of 12,000 transportation professionals from around the globe, TRB provides Highway Care USA a platform to showcase its new product, BG 800 Pedestrian Walkway.

Specially designed for urban environments, this innovative walkway offers contractors, maintenance workers and traffic designers a choice for positive protection in urban environments.

Being first on the market to be MASH TL – 2 tested, BG 800 Pedestrian Walkway, provides pedestrians safe passage when routed near live or vertical construction. With increasing cities across the US facing a crumbling infrastructure and aging population, more often than not, pedestrians are forced into harm’s way of fast moving traffic -  when sidewalks are removed for repair.

BG 800 Pedestrian Walkway, even in the most challenging environment, adheres to the American Disability Act’s (ADA) standards for accessible design. A narrow 21” barrier footprint provides more room for wheelchairs to pass without risk of a bottleneck during peak commuting hours. Its pioneered design requires limited anchoring into any type of surface, providing flexibility for even the most antiquated urban environment.

Held in Washington, D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 8th-12thJanuary 2017, TRB’s information-packed programme consists of over 5,000 presentations and over 800 sessions and workshops.

The Annual Meeting provides a broad spectrum program, covering all transportation modes - it is no surprise that, this wide-ranging address of topical matters, is of particular interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and, representatives of the government, industry, and academic institutions.
